Works for: Instagram Reels, Feed videos, and IGTV. Public accounts only.
Step 1 — Copy the Instagram Video Link
Open the Instagram app on your phone. Find the video or Reel you want to save. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top right of the post. Select Copy Link.
On desktop, simply copy the URL from your browser address bar.
Step 2 — Paste into FreeMake Downloader
Open your browser and go to FreeMake Downloader. Tap the URL input field, then tap-and-hold to paste — or tap the clipboard button for instant paste.
Step 3 — Download
Tap Process URL. After a few seconds, tap Download next to your preferred format.
The file downloads to your Downloads folder automatically. Find it in the Files app or your Gallery.
Use Chrome on iOS for easiest downloads. In Safari, long-press the Download button and tap "Download Linked File".
Troubleshooting
The account is set to private. Only public Instagram videos can be downloaded.
Switch to Chrome on iOS. Safari handles downloads differently and sometimes requires an extra step.
Make sure you copied the link directly from Instagram — not typed it manually or copied from a screenshot.
Some Reels use formats that are not yet supported. Try again — the platform sometimes changes its encoding.
